Dr. Valavalkar was born the youngest of three children and raised in Mumbai, India. Growing up, her father inspired her to pursue her passion for medicine. Dr. Valavalkar attended Grant Medical College in Mumbai. She completed her post-graduate work in pediatrics at KEM hospital in India where she also received her board certification to practice in India. She came to the United States (US) and completed her residency at Harlem Hospital in New York and became board certified to practice pediatrics in the US. She married her husband, who is also a board certified pediatrician, in 1998. She and her husband were in private practice for eight years in Kentucky and have been in private practice for the last two years in San Antonio. They have a son and daughter together, and her husband is now a hospitalist at a local hospital in San Antonio. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Her hobbies include painting and learning Indian Classical music.

I do t feel respected as a parent when my doctor introduces political nonsense to me and my child and acts like it is a proven scientific and biological fact. Children need to be protected from this and doctors need to be standing up for them. We have loved Dr V up until this point and will be sorry to leave her practice because of this very sudden change in the care she provides.

They are extremely hard to get in touch! My 4 month year old had a fever from the vaccines they never went over side affects of how to handle them! My son had 103.5 fever and I was trying to get a hold of doctor or nurse and it was extremely difficult and was a very stressful situation.
I selected “good” for some because sometimes it’s a lot of information and I just need more time to really understand all the new information or write it down so I don’t forget. The information is great & appreciated! I just want to make sure I don’t miss anything.
